Ohmi-Maiko, a resort just an hour away from Osaka

This is the beach in front of BH cafe at Ohmi-Maiko Nakahama in May.
With clear water and white sand and a wide, calm surface, it is a distinctive sight that can only be found here on Lake Biwa.
At the tip of the cape in the upper left of the image is Shirahige Shrine, a powerful power spot, and further ahead is a special, one-of-a-kind location from which you can see Mount Ibuki, Nagahama, Hikone, Okishima and other important points of Shiga prefecture close to the horizon.
It is also a resort just 30 minutes from Kyoto.
In recent years, Omi-Maiko has been featured in English guidebooks, and many inbound tourists from Kyoto and Osaka are visiting the area. If you use the JR Special Rapid Service, you can reach this natural wonder in 30 minutes from Kyoto Station or 60 minutes from Osaka Station.

The photo above shows the beach in front of Omi Maiko’s BH cafe in September. From spring to autumn, you can enjoy the waterside, rich in nature.
BH cafe is closed in winter, but you can enjoy the snowy scenery of the Hira mountain range.
